Discover a relationship

you can’t live without.

You didn’t expect love to feel like this.

You are committed to this relationship.

You’re not looking for an out, but this isn’t what either of you signed up for.   You don’t feel happy in your relationship and fear it is slipping through your fingers.  Perhaps…

  • You feel more like roommates than lovers.  You don’t feel you can be yourself with your partner; it’s so awkward at times.

  • You feel lonely,  unable to remember the last time you had a real conversation or even laughed together.  Instead, romance has become transactional, like a task on the checklist.

  • You even question whether you are still in love and sometimes find yourself wondering if this relationship was a mistake.

You can't believe how far you've grown apart from the person you love.  No matter what you do the arguments, the misunderstandings, the criticism and sometimes even contempt remain. The smallest thing  becomes like a runaway train you don't know how to stop.

Maybe it makes you doubt yourself and you end up wondering:

How did this happen?  Is it my fault?

Am I too much?  Am I not enough?

Can they see how hard I’m trying?

Do I even have what it takes?

You never thought you would feel so lost, hurt, and alone.

A path for couples to heal and grow together

Hi, I’m Dr. Rhonda Ladd.

I believe that every couple has the potential to create a loving and intimate relationship, even couples who have been struggling for years. While often tired and hoping for immediate relief, the couples I work with press past the allure of a quick fix to illuminate what’s going on under the surface, under the fighting words, beneath the sarcasm and critique to create deep and lasting change.  We will interrupt  the negative patterns that have taken over so that you can once again confidently share your heart, needs, and desires and rediscover your loving and secure connection.

Getting Started

  • Visit Léargas’ FAQs to learn all the details about session fees, business hours, and other policies

  • In your consult, you will learn more about working with Dr. Ladd and determine if she is a good fit for your needs. If so, your first appointment will be scheduled.

When scheduling a couple therapy consult, please choose a time when both you and your partner can attend.

  • The first couple session will be 90-minutes. The following week, Dr. Ladd will meet with each partner individually for a 50 - 60 minute session. In these sessions, Dr. Ladd will be learning more about your needs individually and as a couple. Your third session will consist of feedback and recommendations for next steps.

Couples continuing with Dr. Ladd after the feedback session will meet online weekly to decrease what's not working in your relationship while also building trust and emotional connection.

  • Your relationship will become a place of intimacy, fun, and truly dreaming together about a future that once felt impossible.

Now is Your Time

Research shows that couples wait an average of six years of being unhappy before getting help.  Six years to build up resentment, anger, loneliness, and hurt.

You may have thought time would work on your side.  It doesn't.  Time alone doesn’t heal.  You’re tired of trying with no lasting results and you may find that your emotional health is getting worse as well.   Perhaps you’ve told yourself life is just too busy or it never seems like the right time.

Aren’t you tired of putting it off?

Now is your time.

What if there were a way to find your way back to each other again, to feel relaxed and understood, to see the light of love in your partner’s eyes, and renewed passion for each other?

Online sessions for your busy life

Online sessions make scheduling an appointment easier and less intrusive in your day, eliminating the need to battle traffic to and from your therapist's office and the time spent in the waiting room.  Instead, you can grab a cup of coffee, step into a private room for the scheduled therapy session, and return fairly soon to ‘work-mode’.

And it is not just about convenience.  Clients express they often feared the virtual space would feel awkward, but discover it to be an easy and warm connection.  They have also reported feeling surprised and amazed at how seen and heard they feel in our work together, even the nuances of their nonverbal cues and body language.  Research has also shown online counseling  is just as effective as traditional face-to-face therapy for many clients.
